No Pool Problems – Hassle Free Summer
When it is hot, the last thing you want to deal with is a pool that is having problems. You want to make sure things continue to go smooth so you can get outside and cool off in the pool. Here are some tips that will help you have no pool problems.
Keep Proper Pool Chemistry Levels
Keeping your pool chemistry levels at the right reading is going to be a major thing you need to keep in mind as you are taking care of your pool’s health.
The things you need to pay attention to are balancing your water, maintaining pH levels, calcium hardness and total alkalinity. Have a checklist of these levels so you know exactly what you have to do to keep your pool in proper working conditions.
Your Pool Equipment
Not only do you need to keep your pool at the proper levels but you also need to pay attention to your pool equipment. You need to have your main pump running at least 10 to 12 hours per day and if you have a salt system it is going to take even longer. You have to have your pump running if you want your water to stay clear. To make sure your pool is filtered properly, you need to keep your filter cleaned and backwashed.
Cooling Your Pool Water
An attachment called an aerator is the easiest way to cool your pool water. It screws or plugs into the side of your pool and sprays water back into your pool looking like a fountain. It adds oxygen to the water and helps with reducing pool temperature a little bit and in a dry climate it works great.
There is another option which is a pool cooler. These are similar to your home’s AC since when water flows through the cooler it passes by cold air from the cooler fan and is then pumped into the pool. When it is running it can reduce temperature 10 to 15 degrees and is definitely more effective than an aerator.
